Peter J. Ross, DMD is a specialist of pediatric dentistry in Lancaster and is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the first in Lancaster County. He is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and completed graduate studies in microbiology at St. Bonaventure University. Dr. Ross received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine with highest honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society. He completed a pediatric dental residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he served as chief resident for the final year.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Ross is also a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Associations, Lancaster County Dental Society, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ross is the current President of the Pennsylvania Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the past president of the Lancaster County Dental Society and Pennsylvania Dental Society Fifth District, and has served as a Delegate for the Annual Session of the Pennsylvania Dental Society. Additionally, Dr. Ross served as a consultant to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is on staff at Lancaster General Hospital and Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Ross is an assistant clinical professor of pediatric dentistry at Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University. He is also an assistant clinical professor of surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical School.
Dr. Ross is the recipient of the H.K. Cooper Award in 2008 for distinguished service and dedication to the dental community and Lancaster County. It is Lancaster County Dental Society’s most prestigious award for lifetime achievement and service in the dental profession.
Dr. Ross is an Army retired Colonel, serving as past IMA Army Reserve Commander with the Pacific and Southeast Regional Dental Commands and other assignments for 37 years. He has served as a liaison officer (MALO) for the Admissions Department of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.
Dr. Ross is married to Louise Kirkpatrick Ross and they reside in Manheim Township, Lancaster County.
